Legal position
Food operations are subject to the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 and regulations issued under it. FSSAI's current framework includes licensing/registration, product standards, labelling, packaging and other food-safety regulations.
Applicable registrations, approvals, certificates and statutory records are maintained according to the operating entity, premises, product category and activity.
